Western Canada Tour 2018 (FIRST HALF)

Hello world! How have you all been? Personally, I'm LOVING this autumn weather! And since it's fall, that means we are on our annual western tour again... It's been quite wonderful over all but there have definitely been some hard times to balance it all out! We are halfway through with the tour already so I decided to give you an overview of our highlights thus far instead of the weekly updates that i did last time..

Something a little unusual about when we left for tour was that we actually left from the last Manitoba Widow's Banquet on September 29.
The first week of tour we were in MacGregor, MB, and Foam Lake and Prince Albert, SK, and had regular church/community services as well as a Widow's Banquet and many prison services. On top of all of that we also visited relatives in Grandview!

Going for walks in the country with all the pets always does me good :)

So many laughs and stories and discussions have gone on around this table over the years! I'm so thankful for cousins that are more like siblings!

On the way to a prison service i snuck some alone time in the bunk room for some reading, dark chocolate, and good candle smells! (by the way, if you ever get the chance to read Dancing With My Father by Sally Clarkson, do it! It's such a good book)
I'll say right off the bat that these photos will most likely be of quite random everyday occurrences so don't get too confused :)

A beautiful sunset in Prince Albert, SK

In Two Hills, AB, Dad taught a Bondage to Freedom seminar in a church. We spent a total of four days in the area there and got to catch up with some friends.

This pooch thought the snow was great :)

Trying our best to make some version of Thanksgiving Dinner on the bus. Although I don't think it qualified, we were thankful and it tasted great!

the finished product: chicken, sweet potatoes, pickles, beets, and a didn't-have-a-recipe-so-i-made-it-up pumpkin dessert that didn't get a picture :)

She loves anything cozy;)

Ty and Loni folding napkins for the banquet in Two Hills.
Unfortunately this is the only picture i have of that particular banquet, but there will be plenty more later on.

Oh what happiness when a childhood friend from Belize moves to the West and comes to our concert and completely makes my day! Thank you, Rachel!

It's not an uncommon thing to hear one of us exclaim, "what would we even do without Selah?" She is spoiled rotten and loves every minute of it :D

Banquet number 2 was in Slave Lake, AB. This was such a fun one and all the friends that went above and beyond the necessities were top notch! I mean, they even had chocolate covered strawberries as an appetizer!

Vanderhoof, BC has some beautiful scenery!

Instead of a Widow's Banquet, our friends decided on a Single Ladies banquet. Again, it's such a blessing to have so much support and love given to the ladies that come. We pray that they can feel beautiful and loved even if we are only there to show it for one night!

She found something under the fridge and spent half and hour trying to get it out!

Selah had something stuck on her nail so it took all four of us to get it out... Lonita spoke loving words, I held her, Julia took pictures, and Tyrell actually untangled it!

Are we the only ones who drive through the Rockies like this?

And to think that God but spoke and all this was made! Wow!

We have now spent over a week in the Chilliwack/Abbotsford area doing prison services, and it's completely stunning around here! Going to a prison yesterday afternoon, we drove right along a river with fishermen all around, clouds just a little higher up than we were, and snow covered mountains a little ways off! I can't say that i'd want to live right in the mountains, i LOVE the beauty they give to any backdrop! And the trees! oh, they are wonderful! All the rain out here makes them so green and full of depth! It does my heart so good!

You can't go to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch without having a mini photo shoot!

:: As before mentioned, we've been having lots of prison services so I don't have pictures to show of that. They have mostly been so, so good and our hearts have been blessed richly! Often times we don't even get to see the fruit of it but many chaplains have testified of what it does to those men and women incarcerated to see a family, together. working together. praying together. having a good time, together. I don't even realize how fortunate i am for an opportunity like this!

If you think of me and my family over the next four weeks as we finish the tour and settle in back home again, I would appreciate your prayers! I have been more homesick on this tour than i have been in a long time... In part maybe cause I have such good friends back home that mean so much to me, and also we all just want a little more "hominess", a place where we can all sit around one table and have friends and family over! Sometimes it gets overwhelming having a school, bedrooms, kitchen, office, cleaning jobs, and a vehicle all within 45 feet, but it makes for some welcome laughs for sure :)
I'll end my long shpeel with that!
Thank you for taking the time to see what we've been up to! The next post should have some fun things coming for ya!
Until next time...

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
