Bus Adventures

Hello!
As some of you know, my family is on tour and this week we are part of the We Care prison crusade. After a wonderful day of orientation and worship on Sunday we headed off to a nearby church to spend some time playing games in the gym. This is our first time to be part of this particular crusade but there are still quite a few friends, old and new, that we had fellowship with all evening! Yesterday we had our first prison service here in Alabama and it was really good! Definitely none of the "frozen chosen" there😊 Several men requested we sing "Good Ole Days" a second and third time! It was a wonderful evening all in all, witnessing as men came forward to except Christ as their Savior, singing songs of what Christ has done in us, and knowing that we are doing what we have been called to do.
Have you ever heard that our "interruptions" are often divine appointments? Well, it's a good thing to keep that in mind especially when you are doing ministry of any sort.

Our bus has had many problems on this tour already but never so bad that we couldn't make to it to our next destination. Last night after we loaded up the sound equipment on the prison yard we just could not start the bus. I mean zilch. Nada. There was nothing! We cried out to God and asked for answers as to where all these problems were coming from. After running the generator for a while it finally started and we headed down the road. It wasn't long, however, till things started beeping, lights on the control panel were blinking, and Dad couldn't shift anymore. Right as we were turning on an exit lane the whole thing stalled. So... that was fun! Let me just say how proud I am of my dad! He had been trying to figure out what was wrong with the bus all day, drove us an hour to the prison, and headed up our part in the service. It was now around 10:30 at night and as soon as the bus stalled he went out back to start fixing things as far as he knew how! Soon a police car arrived and started blocking traffic so Dad could work on the bus. Then another one came. When we finally realized it had to do with a failing battery one of the policemen called the first responders and told him that there was a "family from Canada who was ministering at the prison down here and their bus broke down." In less than five minutes the first responders came to boost the bus and it started!
In a couple minutes we were driving down the highway. Since we were trying to save the battery we turned off all the lights inside and thanked the Lord for keeping us all safe. One by one we started lifting our voices in worship. God has been so, so good to us! We are very grateful! It amazes me that we may have experiences like this, it may be a divine appointment, and we may never even know! But God does...and they're not interruptions when we trust Him.
For those wondering, the bus now has a new battery and is working correctly☺

10 Things You Didn't Know About Me

Hello, everyone!
One of my favorite kind of posts to read on other peoples' blogs are "get to know me" posts. Even though i may not know the individual personally, i realize we have some things in common and their blog interests me a lot more! Knowing we all have our own little quirks, giggles, and trademarks, here are ten facts you may or may not know about me!

No. 1 - I was a little four pound preemie when I was born.

:: photo taken by the West Coast in California::

No. 2 - I have traveled from coast to coast in the US and Canada.

No. 3 - My Mom is Mexican, my Dad Belizean, and I am Canadian.

No. 4 - I have a fear of birds, mascots, and reptiles.

No. 5 - I would choose cold drinks over hot drinks at any given time.

No. 6 - yellow is my favorite color

No. 7 - I am an odd mixture of intro/extrovert.

No. 8 - Most people know me as the giggly/smiley one.

No. 9 - Stars and beautiful skies are my favorite.

No. 10 - I love tidying things up and interior design.

It's a New Year

Happy New Year, everyone!
It's that time of year where you will find almost everyone hopping on a new plan of some sort, committing to new fitness routines or diets, and we always say, "this is the year that i will finally ..." You fill in the blank. Though i have nothing against New Year resolutions I don't particularly practice that. Instead, i choose a word or phrase that becomes mine for the year.
The truth is that there's always areas that need improving. There's always someone younger, older, taller, prettier, fitter, healthier, more stylish, or more adventurous than I am at the moment. So, I choose to be persistent. I won't give up. I'll be committed to live a God-glorifying life, with the thoughts i think, the words i speak, and the way i treat the body He gave me.

Persistence. Commitment. Hope.
Those are my words for 2017. Be persistent. Stay committed. Never give up hope!

:: Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in HOPE ::
