5 Favorite Things About Mexico

Hello!
My apologies, it has been far too long since i last posted! (but, my life has been full to the brim and it has been quite wonderful altogether:)
A couple weeks ago our family (along with four others) went to Mexico for one week of concerts.

 I knew i had to do a post on my favorite things in Mexico because i love that culture. It's so colorful and laid back!
1. The food
No other culture makes better food than Mexicans (in my honest opinion) although Russian comes to a close second :) All the homemade tortillas, fresh guacamole, and cilantro was delicious! and the HOTDOGS! they were the foody highlight of my trip! they aren't just normal hotdogs. they have the same base but then they put beans, guacamole, and caramelized onions on top... it's the best!

:: first stop in Mexico was a little food shop where i got spicy quesadillas ::

:: the famous hotdog ::

:: we savored the hotdogs after a concert in downtown Cueutehmoc ::

::

:: the lemonade is unbeatable ::

:: our dear friends made amazing carnitas that were loved by all ::

2. the shops
Since we had 6 services in 6 days we had minimal time for any shopping or sight seeing but we did take a little walk in Cueutehmoc before soundcheck and stopped at a fabric store.

:: so many colors ::

:: our Spanish speaking skills were limited but we had a good ole time! ::

3. the scenery
Mexico is beautiful!

:: this beautiful park was right across the street from the place we sang at in the city ::

4. the people
so many people...so many cultures

I don't have a lot of pictures of the people here, but i always love visiting with them! i'm blessed to know Plaute Duetch so visiting with my people was no problem...it was the Spanish that gets a little interesting :)

5. the experience
I've been in Mexico a number of times, for visits or even living there for a couple months at a time, but just going down there with four other families and singing was a really fun experience! Quite a number of us got sick during the tour and some nights we were short 4-5 singers on stage, but we have seen God work so wonderfully on our behalf, and the times when we felt like we just couldn't were the times that Christ abounded so much more!

i hope you enjoyed this little peek into our time in Mexico!
Have a wonderful week!
