Winter Tour 2018: Week One

Hello everyone! I haven't said "hello" since the  new year, so "hi!" I love having you all in my life in some way or other. I'm starting with the weekly blog posts again since we are on tour and it seems to work quite well that way. We actually left home a week ago on Sunday and was planning to blog yesterday already but due to the schedule I couldn't fit it in. I'll start of on Sunday morning, January the 14th.
Our first service was in Winkler, MB. This was our first time at this church even though we only live a few hours from here. The people were so hospitable and we had a lovely evening with them!
I also want to say, "Thank you!" to so many of you who prayed especially for our health as we started this tour. The day before we left everyone of us felt very under the weather and most of us croaked more than talked :) Nonetheless, the Lord did abundantly more than we could ask or think and that first service went really, really well! We have had a few challenges voice-wise since then but now we are back to good health!

Monday was spent meeting some friends for lunch, traveling, crossing the border, and traveling even more!

By Tuesday afternoon we had made it to Altoma Christian Community where we were greeted by many wonderful folks! We were pleasantly surprised by the fact that some of our friends from the community in SK were there as well!

Having coffee break directly after lunch is fully embraced by all :) We really had such a lovely time chatting and getting to know more friends!
Wednesday we drove to another Christian farm not to far from Altoma where we sang that evening. They had made so many kinds of pizza for us and it was delicious!

Thursday we had several hours to drive to make it to Milford, Nebraska for the evening service. I don't know what it is about the folks we meet on this tour but they have all been so lovely! On the way there Dad actually discovered that a bearing was done with on the bus and a man that was at the service that night, offered that we could park in his shop overnight and he helped Dad replace it!

The rest of us made good use of their long driveway :)

Thursday we sang in Garnett, Kansas. A gentleman that was running the projectors and such helped us clean up and load after the service, and then early the next morning he brought is doughnuts, orange juice, and some sausage rolls! So much kindness!

Saturday was spent driving. We had over 12 hours to cover that day and eventually it's time to stretch the legs and breathe some fresh air!

We saw a gorgeous complete rainbow on the way that kind of made our day!

And let me just say, having pickle juice all over the floor and fridge and freezer and counter tops isn't the most fun to clean up :) but, Selah offered her never ending support in watching very closely!

Sunday morning the ReNew Hope Crusade started here in Alabama. The weather was perfect, the friends were plenty and the fellowship was sweet!
I counted 14 buses parked on the lot and it felt a little like a party as we hopped from one bus to the other visiting friends, old and new.

So, we are still in Alabama, day two of going into prison here and I'll post more about it next week since it is technically "next week" already :) Y'all are awesome! Thanks for thinking of is and praying for us!

"What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son, in flesh like ours under sin's domain, and as a sin offering..."
